Job description

At this Ofsted rated "Good" residential children's home, nights are anything but simple. The young people here are strong, determined, and live with autism and complex processing needs. Their behaviours can include aggression such as biting, spitting, headbutting, or pulling hair. At times, they may use difficult language - from racial abuse to disturbing conversations - and they may also need urgent medical support for epilepsy, diabetes, or mental health concerns. As Night Team Leader, you'll be the calm and steady guide for your colleagues, ensuring the home stays safe and consistent through the most vulnerable hours.

What You'll Do:

As Night Team Leader, you'll combine hands-on support with leading your team through the shift:

  • Lead the night staff in maintaining safety and routines.
  • Support young people with autism, epilepsy, diabetes, and mental health needs.
  • Step into challenging behaviours with confidence and authority.
  • Provide personal care respectfully when needed.
  • Mentor and reassure less experienced colleagues during difficult moments.
  • Keep detailed records and oversee handovers to the day team.
What We're Looking For:

We're searching for steady, confident leaders who thrive in unpredictable situations:

  • Experience in children's residential care, especially with autism and behaviours that challenge.
  • Skilled in Team Teach, de-escalation, and safe interventions.
  • Resilient in the face of aggression, offensive language, or disturbing conversations.
  • Physically fit and dependable through long nights.
  • Strong communicator and supportive leader.
  • To transport the young people in and out of the community this role requires adults with a Full UK Driving License.
Benefits Working at SuperCare:

We'll support your leadership with a package designed to help you thrive:

  • Salary 20% above sector norms.
  • 36 days of specialist training annually.
  • Fully funded Level 3 Diploma (if not already held).
  • Private healthcare and GP-on-demand.
  • Gym stipend and wellbeing support.
  • Pension and bonus scheme.
  • Free parking and shared vehicles for transporting young people.
  • Clear progression into Deputy Manager roles.
