Job summary

Alliance Healthcare in Belfast is seeking a reliable Warehouse Operative to join our distribution team. You will pick and assemble customer orders using handheld scanners, ensure products are handled safely, and maintain GDP-compliant stock control and quality standards.

This full-time role offers Monday-Thursday and Friday shifts, 39 hours per week, with competitive pay (£12.95 per hour) and comprehensive training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required.
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
• Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements.
• Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials.
• Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations.
• Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements.
• Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools.
• Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs.
• Ability to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action.
• Ability to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities.
• Ability to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and assemble orders using handheld scanning equipment.
• Move between workstations as required to support operational needs.
• Resolve picking exceptions and ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.
• Handle products with care and use appropriate packaging to prevent damage.
• Report damaged stock, packaging issues, or discrepancies promptly.
• Escalate pick face errors and stock location issues to supervisors immediately.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow warehouse procedures.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements and wear PPE at all times.
