Overview

Night Shift Team Leader – Location: Hemel Hempstead. Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00pm - 5:00am (45 hours per week). Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience). Holiday: 28 days, rising to 33 days after 5 years' service.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Night Shift Team Leader to support their night operation within a fast-paced distribution environment. Reporting directly to the Night Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of night-time logistics and warehouse activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting into the Night Shift Supervisor
  • Organising and overseeing the loading of all vans and lorries throughout the night
  • Producing accurate nightly loading reports
  • Monitoring staff performance and creating effective workflow plans
  • Liaising with the Transport team to resolve any operational issues
  • Managing stock control and reporting discrepancies
  • Supporting the Night Shift Supervisor in maintaining a safe working environment and escalating issues to the Warehouse Manager where necessary
Additional Responsibilities
  • Getting involved in operational projects and presenting improvement ideas to management
  • Manoeuvring vans within a busy yard during night operations
  • Providing cover for the Night Shift Supervisor during periods of absence
  • Supporting the wider needs of the business where required, within reason
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid Reach Truck and Counterbalance forklift licences
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proven experience leading or supervising small teams in a previous role
