Job summary

John Lewis Partnership’s Waitrose in Abingdon is hiring a Supermarket Assistant to deliver partner-led service and a passion for food on every visit. You’ll help keep shelves stocked, fulfil online orders, and support the team to wow customers with a trusted shopping experience.

Varied full-time hours (37.5 per week) across five days, including weekends, with shifts from 22:00–06:00. Applicants must be 18+ and aligned with our values of kindness and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
• Experience of working in a customer facing role is welcomed.
• Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to ensure the support of the whole branch.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place at the right time.
• Fulfilling online customer orders ready for drivers to deliver to customers’ doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns to sell-by dates.
• Supporting the wider shop team including checkout support and Click & Collect orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
