Job summary

Avon Search is recruiting for an experienced Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader at a 32-bed nursing home in East Grinstead, West Sussex. The role covers overnight/night shifts, leading the care team and delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

The home is part of a charitable foundation with a strong focus on resident and staff development, offering excellent career progression and funded training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader in a nursing/residential setting.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable.
• Experience supporting older people with complex nursing needs.
• Medication administration experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Genuine passion for delivering outstanding care.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting the care team throughout night shifts
• Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
• Assisting residents with personal care and overnight support
• Supporting medication administration where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate care plans and documentation
• Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding to changing needs
• Acting as a positive role model and mentor for the wider care team
