Job summary

BHC is a family-run steel fabrication company based in Carnwath, South Lanarkshire, seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our Paint Shop on a full-time, workshop-based basis. You will operate overhead cranes safely, maintain lifting safety, move racks and steel through painting, curing and loading areas, and ensure continuous production flow.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural steel is advantageous.
• Experience using overhead cranes is advantageous.
• Full training provided; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.
• Operate overhead cranes safely.
• Move racks, bogies and steel between painting, curing/drying and loading areas.
• Expedite materials to maintain production flow.
• Inspect lifting equipment before use.
• Label parts before painting; assist with paint changes.
• Load and stack racks to ensure balanced lifts.
