Job summary

GKN Aerospace is recruiting a Machinist for its Western Approach site, a centre of excellence for composite wing structures. You will join a small team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while working a core night shift (Mon-Thu 20:00-06:00) with a 33% shift allowance.

The role requires an indentured machining apprenticeship and knowledge of Lean manufacturing to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have an indentured machining apprenticeship.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis.
• Ensure calibrated equipment is within date.
• Clear work phases timely usingSAP system.
• Highlight non-conformance to the Process Team Leader.
• Adhere to GKNAF Quality Procedures and HASAWA requirements.
• Manage machine stoppages with maintenance escalation and TPM tasks.
• Maintain 5S in the workspace and tools area.
• Ensure compliance with Export Control regulations and TCP.
• Report incidents and implement corrective actions.
