Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for a four-night, night-shift role in Northampton. You will service, repair, and diagnose HGVs in a professional commercial workshop with an attractive hourly rate (£23.00–£24.00 depending on licences and experience).

The position offers a 4-night pattern, development opportunities, and ongoing training within a well-established workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to continue developing technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing mechanical repairs and defect work to a high standard.
• Following manufacturer procedures and workshop standards.
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.
• Completing job cards and repair documentation accurately.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
• Working as part of a professional team to minimise vehicle downtime.
