Job summary

Culina is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for Penrith operations to support general haulage across the region. Roles are full-time with night shifts Mon-Fri, typically starting 17:00–19:00, offering flexibility to match availability.

Pay rates range from £15.80 to £18.41 per hour depending on shift, plus a £5 per shift meal allowance. Benefits include 28 days holiday, fully paid PPE, DCPC training, life assurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally 6+ months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR convictions.
• DCPC & Tacho cards held.
• Understand Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Carry out vehicle checks to ensure safety and report defects.
• Comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• New Pass Drivers will be considered.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores.
• Collections from stores to load out to factories and distribution centres.
• Support general work including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages.
• Complete all vehicle checks and documentation.
• Maintain high safety, compliance, and professionalism.
• Work with transport team to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver hours, WTD and tachograph rules.
