Job summary

Rapier Employment is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver for a full-time, temporary role based in Darlington. Night shifts run 15:00–21:00, with weekends preferred. The role includes a £11.45 uplift for shifts between midnight and 04:00 and pays £19.03 per hour.

Deliveries to RDCs/stores, tail-lift unloading, and strict vehicle checks are required. Applicants must hold a C+E licence with six months’ experience, CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card.

Qualifications

• HGV C+E licence required with at least six months experience.
• Digital Tachograph Card and CPC qualification.
• Clean licence with no DR10, CD10 or IN10 endorsements.
• Able to work night shifts.
• Physical stamina for manual handling of cages and tail‑lift work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver to RDCs and stores.
• Unload store deliveries using tail lift and cages.
• Conduct vehicle checks.
• Work night shifts 15:00 – 21:00; Monday to Sunday, with a £11.45 uplift for shifts between midnight and 04:00.
