A leading packaging manufacturer in the United Kingdom is seeking a Night Shift Engineer to perform maintenance on production machinery. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background and at least 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.   • Work alongside shift engineers for breakdowns on production lines.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.

Night Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased)
Suffolk/Norfolk (IP21)

Commutable from - Thetford, Eye, Diss, Norwich, Bungay, Beccles, Stowmarket, Long Stratton

£53,500 + Overtime

Monday-Friday Perm Nights 10pm-6am (Early Finish Fridays)

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to engineering departmental growth, they are looking for an experienced electrical biased maintenance engineer, to work on their night shift.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all reactive and schedule maintenance on production machinery
  • Working alongside and supported by shift engineers for breakdowns on production lines
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Dealing with high-speed production, processing & packaging machinery
  • PLC's, automation, control systems, VSD's, AC Drives
  • Electrical safety, LOTO, isolation
  • Installation & commissioning of new machinery

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Looking for a multi-skilled engineer - electrically biased
  • Must have electrical qualifications
  • At least 5 years experience outside of apprenticeship
  • Ideally have competed a formal apprenticeship scheme
  • NVQ or City Guilds qualified to level 3 or higher
  • Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours, cover extra hours & shutdowns as overtime
  • Computer literate - able to use SAP systems
  • Experience of working with hydraulics, pneumatics, VSD's, power transmission drive systems
  • PLC - electrical fault finding skills
  • Steam systems experience would be beneficial
  • Must be very health & safety focussed
  • Ideally qualified to HNC electrical engineering
