Job summary

William Jackson Food Group is hiring a 7.5 tonne driver for the Harlow depot. You will start between 1am and 5am and work five out of six days, including bank holidays, delivering orders to customers and ensuring they arrive in perfect condition.

You will drive a 7.5t vehicle nationwide, provide first‑class customer service, use GPS navigation and a PDA, and follow all UK HGV and driver hours rules while keeping the vehicle clean. A rigid adherence to safety and GMP standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and LGV C1 licence.
• Driver CPC and Digi Card.
• Good understanding of UK driving laws, particularly HGV driving laws.
• Good understanding of GB HGV drivers' hours rules.
• You will be working on your own so will need to be reliable and conscientious.
• Strong problem solving skills to assist in minimizing disruption to our customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and have an enthusiastic, can do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle to transport orders to our customers nationwide.
• Always ensuring that our customers receive first class customer service during their delivery; interacting with customers in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ensure each order is delivered to our customers as per the delivery instructions.
• Be responsible for and use GPS navigation and order system along with a PDA device.
• When delivering to the customer, ensure that the order is as per the invoice.
• Ensure you adhere to UK and HGV driving laws at all times.
• Ensure that your vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times in line with the cleaning schedule.
• Thoroughly complete a daily walk-round check on your assigned vehicle prior to departing the depot to ensure it is roadworthy and raise an issue with the vehicle as required.
• Ensure that hygiene standards are at all times performed to BRC accreditation and to our own high GMP standards.
• Have knowledge of company and statutory Health & Safety, security and emergency procedures.
