Night Senior Care Assistant

Location: Stafford, ST18 0RD
Salary: £13.90 per hour
Contract: Zero hour (bank contract) available
Hours: 24 hours per week

About us:

Meadowfields Care Home is a 65-bed, en-suite home in the scenic village of Great Haywood, Stafford, just five miles from Rugeley and Stafford. Our purpose-built home offers peaceful surroundings and beautiful countryside views.

We welcome visits to see our care firsthand, with our Care Manager happy to give a tour and explain our services.

Job Role:

Reporting to the Care Manager, you will provide high-quality physical and emotional care to clients while leading and supporting the care team. This includes supervising staff, providing training, and liaising with external professionals.

We’re looking for someone organised, confident in delegating work, and experienced in leading others. You should understand good care practice and be trained or willing to train to administer medication and contribute to improving residents’ outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To take responsibility for the home and ensure it meets company objectives in the absence of the Care Manager.
  • To administer and record medication as and when required in accordance with the Medication Policy.
  • To give a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to the residents noting any changes.
  • To maintain liaison with professionals in a multi-agency approach.
  • To provide supervision and support to the staff team.
  • To participate in the planning of care programmes and prepare care review reports.
  • To assess the care practice of all staff, ensuring the objectives of the home are met.
  • To supervise and be involved in all aspects of the holistic care of the resident group.
  • To maintain administration and monitoring systems that comply with legal requirements.
  • To ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • To work flexible hours to meet the needs of the home.
  • To attend staff training courses and meetings.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Medication Experience and all the relevant certifications.
  • Own Transport or ability to get to work, public transport is present.
  • Demonstrate Leadership Skills.
  • Flexibility in shift patterns.
  • Working Towards NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent.
