Night Porter - Overview

Responsibilities

• Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests to ensure a superb customer service experience.
• Ensure the security of the building is maintained through the quiet hours, as directed by the hotel management. Usually done by regular walk rounds and recording the action in a log.
• Deal with guest requests to assist in a comfortable stay.
• Be aware of your hours worked (17‑week average rule).
• Be fully conversant with the procedures in case of an emergency, covering procedures for guests being taken ill, fire safety and the procedure, and also for yourself working alone.
• Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help maintain a safe working environment, including the “buddy” contact process.
• Assist guests with luggage if necessary.

The role of the Night Porter is generally about the security of the building while most of our guests are asleep. A friendly, welcoming and efficient service from our reception is our aim and you will continue the good work carried out by the daytime receptionists.
