Job summary

Carden Park Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Night Porter to join the overnight team. You will work 10:30pm-7:00am for 32-40 hours per week, on a permanent contract, including weekends, and earn £26,800 per year plus service charge and benefits.

As Night Porter you will deliver guest service, handle late check-ins, room-service orders, security checks, and support other departments overnight, while maintaining high standards and safe, welcoming environments.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a D1 category on their driving licence.
• Previous experience in hotel, hospitality or customer service preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, flexible and can-do attitude.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Confidence working independently during night shifts.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Delivering exceptional guest service throughout the night, anticipating and responding to guests' needs with professionalism and care.
• Welcoming guests with efficient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Making and delivering room service orders promptly and courteously.
• Maintaining cleanliness, presentation and organisation of public areas to the highest standard.
• Carrying out regular security and safety checks across the resort, ensuring a secure environment for guests, visitors and colleagues.
• Supporting other departments overnight to ensure the smooth running of hotel operations.
• Responding confidently to guest enquiries and requests, creating memorable experiences.
• Driving the staff minibus on a rotational basis.

Hours: 32 - 40 hours per week (4-5 nights per week) Enjoy a permanent contract working 10:30pm-7am, including weekends.

Salary: £26,800 per annum plus service charge plus extensive benefits

As a Night Porter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome, outstanding service and a safe, comfortable stay throughout the night. You'll be a key member of the overnight team, providing support across the hotel and helping to maintain the high standards our guests expect.

Your night with Team Carden:

About You

• Candidates MUST have a D1 category on their driving license for this role to facilitate staff drop offs late at night via our shuttle bus.
• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality or customer service environment (preferred but not essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, flexible and can-do attitude.
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Confidence working independently and taking responsibility during overnight shifts.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and upholding the highest standards of service.

Due to the rural location of Carden Park, applicants should have access to a vehicle or reliable transport methods.
