About the Location

The first Malmaison opened its doors in 1994 in a former sailor’s retreat on the old docks of Leith. Located on the bustling waterfront, the hotel sits amid independent shops, stylish bars, cutting‑edge restaurants and the historic Royal Yacht Britannia. Leith is a vibrant part of the city, just 15 minutes from the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace, offering the cool coastal district ambience.

About the Role

Role: Night Porter at Malmaison Edinburgh Leith

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off

Earn £12.50 per hour plus generous company benefits, training and development.

The Night Porter is instrumental in overseeing the running of the hotel from sundown to sunrise, ensuring high standards and a welcoming environment for guests during the night.

  • Take responsibility for the Food & Beverage Department during the night shift.
  • Welcome guests to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Maintain immaculate public areas, clean public spaces, and prepare meeting and event spaces for the next day.
  • Assist guests with their luggage, deal with enquiries, and carry out nightly Health & Safety audits.
  • Organise tasks efficiently and communicate effectively with the team.

We operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Shifts and days are flexible, with the busiest periods during evenings and weekends. Shift patterns and contracted hours can be discussed at interview.

Successful candidates can progress to Night Supervisory or Assistant Night Management roles.

Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role is beneficial.
  • Experience of night‑shift work is essential.
