Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood is seeking a Night Porter to join a Truly Talented team. The role is part-time, with a 16-hour weekly contract, reporting to the Night Manager.

You will greet guests, maintain high service standards, and assist across night operations in a busy, friendly hotel environment. The ideal candidate will be night-owl, with strong communication skills, a professional appearance, and a passion for hospitality.

Qualifications

• Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry.
• Previous experience as a receptionist is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to understand guests’ needs to create exceptional service experiences.
• Excellent personal presentation.
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
• You are a night owl, comfortable working during the night.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Be totally guest focused, delivering excellent customer service with a friendly and informed approach.
• Gain experience in all front desk areas and ensure company and legal requirements are met.
• Assist in the general running of the hotel at night and support other departments for next day setup.
• Continuously improve the quality of the hotel’s services.
• Undertake night audits and hotel safety checks to ensure guest safety.
• Engage with guests, including those needing special attention, in a professional manner.
• Promote company values and behaviours at all times.

The Marriott Edinburgh Hotel Holyrood is conveniently located in the heart of Edinburgh's historic and beautiful old town. This 4-star hotel and spa in Edinburgh is just a 15-minute walk from Waverley Railway station and the bustle of the city's main thoroughfare, Princes Street.

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Night Porter to join our Truly Talented team.

Reporting directly to the Night Manager, this is an exciting role for a talented individual who is looking for a new challenge and wants to join a fast-paced, busy and hardworking team environment.

Your role

As a Night Porter, you will provide courteous and efficient service to all guests and maintain the levels of service to the highest standards during the night.

You will be responsible for greeting guests in a warm, friendly manner and be a true ambassador for excellent service, dealing with all requests and queries in an efficient and professional manner, whether face-to-face or over the telephone.

You’ll work in a busy and hardworking team environment, where you’ll continually learn and develop.

Responsibilities of a Night Porter will include but are not limited to:

• To be totally guest focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach;
• To gain experience in all sections of the front desk department and ensure company and legal requirements are maintained;
• Assist in the general running of the hotel at night and support other departments in setting up for the next day;
• To continuously improve the quality of the hotel's services;
• To undertake night audits and hotel safety checks to make sure everyone in our hotel is safe and looked after;
• To be confident in all aspects of guest relations, receiving and recognising all guests, including those who require special attention;
• To promote the company values and behaviours at all times.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting.
