Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: GASYARD DEVELOPMENT TRUST
The main objectives of the posts will be to play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security and wellbeing of those attending the Gasyard Centre during the evening programme implementation while carrying out general housekeeping duties to the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the health & safety of all staff, facilitators, visitors and centre users.
  • Have a presence in the main foyer ensuring all requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the Gasyard Centre and grounds to ensure user safety and security and looking out for and remediation of potential hazards.
  • Ensure all corridors are clear and means of fire escape are maintained at all times and that fire extinguishers and fire doors are secure.
  • Clean, dust, hoover, mop and tidy public areas, stairways and staff kitchen.
  • Preparation of meeting room set‑up and takedown for the following day’s programmes as directed by the Front of House team.
  • Report any maintenance problems or safety hazards to the Gasyard Development Trust Manager.
  • Act as Key Holder and secure the facility including setting the intruder alarm, check and secure all external doorways at the end of each evening.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations of the centre’s programmes.
  • Uphold the values of inclusion, creativity, and community in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and development, and to participate in any meeting or training identified by the manager.
  • Respond to any maintenance issues raised by programme facilitators or centre users.
Skills and Qualifications

JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information - Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
