Night Network Service Technician – Thames Water

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our North London team at Thames Water as a Night Network Service Technician. This is an exciting and varied customer‑facing role where day to day you will be resolving customer network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to customer supply. You will be meeting and helping different people every day, working on a variety of projects ensuring that the best service is given to our customers.

What you will be doing
  • Taking personal ownership of customer queries and responding to and resolving issues at their homes or places of work.
  • Collaborating with contractors to do planned and unplanned work and investigating clean water networks to resolve poor performance, including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and loss of supply out in the field.
  • Helping control burst mains, ensuring isolation to facilitate planned work, emergency repairs and maintenance.
  • Looking after valve operations and water sampling, valve checks and planning.
  • As the role involves driving daily, the ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive between jobs.
Base Location and Working Pattern

Base Location: Stroud Green – Croydon – CR0 8YY

Working Pattern: Night shifts (Monday–Sunday) 20:00‑06:30, however, you will be required to work day shifts (Monday–Thursday) for the training period of 6 months.

  • Previous experience in a similar role or utilities‑based environment.
  • Previous customer service experience within a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Can‑do and positive attitude.
  • Initiative‑taking.
  • Assured of completing tasks to the best of your ability.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Solution‑focused attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
Additional Skills and Experiences
  • Basic knowledge of domestic plumbing or water mains and leakage would be advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
