Job summary

Accor invites you to join as a Luggage Porter in a luxury hotel. You will welcome guests, assist with luggage, deliver to rooms, and support the concierge team to ensure seamless arrivals and departures.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly in English, have hotel experience, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a polished appearance and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English, both verbal and written.
  • Recent experience within in 5-star hotels or a similar role.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering and offering the best service and experiences possible in any situation.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently welcoming and greeting guests to raffles standards, using name recognition whenever possible.
  • Assist the door, concierge and lobby staff to ensure smooth transitions for all guests and residents.
  • Track and trac all luggage and guest items arriving into the hotel.
  • Escorting guests and luggage through the building.
  • Arranging taxi and pick ups of guests and transfers of luggage in a detailed manner.
  • Manual handling and lifting of guest items, ensuring great care is taken at every step.
  • Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior employee.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned including working in a different department or restaurant, than usually assigned.

Scope Of Position

Under the direction of the Luggage Master you will be a direct point of contact for guests in the lobby and work with the concierge team to provide any answers to questions they may have. To assist guests with their luggage and delivering it to their rooms as promptly as possible. Run errands for guests and employees.

To handle all guest luggage, packages, and parcels with the utmost care and attention to detail. To provide a genuine, attentive, friendly, positive and proactive service to our guests as well as managing the public areas of the hotel, ensuring that guest and departmental expectations are met exceeding the high standards required by the company.

Responsibilities
Operation
  • Act as the contact point between Front office and guests.

Health and Safety
  • This role will include heavy lifting and manual handling with all training and procedures to be followed.
  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified.
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures.
  • Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises, by strict adherence to existing laws, statues and applicable ordinances, and by anticipating possible and probable hazards and conditions and either correcting them or pre-planning a defence against them.
  • Stimulate and encourage a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English, both verbal and written.
  • Recent experience within in 5-star hotels or a similar role
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering and offering the best service and experiences possible in any situation.
  • Able to work within a team and to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Distinctive, professional and warm personality
  • A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining an immaculate and professional appearance.
  • An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required.
Desirable
  • UK Driving licence.
  • Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards.
