Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Hygiene Operative to maintain cleanliness across the warehouse and site. You will work Monday to Friday, 22:00–06:00, ensuring cleaning schedules are followed and food safety standards are met. The role includes deep-cleaning and inspections to uphold BRC requirements.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a chilled environment (0–5°C). Training is provided, with opportunities to join a diverse, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or hygiene is preferred but training can be provided.
• Strong health and safety awareness is essential.
• Willingness to work in a chilled warehouse environment (0–5°C) and follow hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules, hygiene procedures and company policies at all times.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH guidelines.
• Carry out deep-cleaning to maintain site hygiene and BRC standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-cleaning inspections to ensure standards.
• Manage waste and recycling areas and keep them compliant.
• Maintain hygiene in warehouse, loading and external areas.
• Record completed tasks and manage workload to meet cleaning objectives.
