Night Engineer

Local to Peterborough, Spalding, Bourne, Corby

Up to £55,000

A permanent night shift role on a site that's expanding, investing, and strengthening its engineering function year on year.

We're looking for a reliable, hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Shift Engineer to join a growing manufacturing site that's investing heavily in new machinery, new lines, and site expansion. This is a permanent night shift role, ideal for an engineer who enjoys autonomy, variety, and working on modern equipment.

You'll be confident electrically and mechanically, comfortable fault‑finding under pressure, and proactive in keeping the site running safely and efficiently.

The Role

As part of the on‑site engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of Food Manufacturing equipment, covering:

  • Breakdown response and fault finding
  • Planned and preventive maintenance
  • Machine servicing and improvement projects
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment

You'll work both independently and alongside others, liaising closely with production to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance in line with the PPM schedule
  • Diagnose faults and complete effective breakdown repairs
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and lines
  • Liaise with production teams to reduce downtime and support improvement projectsiv
  • Supervise and support external contractors on site
