Description

Priory Hospital Newbury is recruiting a Deputy Ward Manager to join the Acute ward. This full‑time 37.5 hour role supports male adults with mental health needs and provides an acute service for local crisis admissions.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence.

  • Works as Senior Nurse in a Ward ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families and visitors.
  • Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team.
  • Ensures that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
  • Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role modelling these across the team.
Qualifications

The role requires active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and experience as a trained assessor or supervisor. Clinical supervision experience is essential. Candidates should have at least 18 months to two years of post‑registration practice and demonstrable expertise within a clinical specialty. Strong computer literacy is also required.
