Job description

A Night Coach at SuperCare provides safety and reassurance when the world is quiet. The children in this home are highly active during the day, but night‑time can still bring challenges – sometimes difficulty settling, sometimes waking unsettled or distressed. Your role is to provide calm consistency, making sure they feel safe and supported through the night.

Nights require vigilance as well as compassion. You'll handle routines like hygiene prompting or medication, respond if behaviours escalates, and ensure the home stays peaceful. It's a role for someone calm under pressure, who can bring a steady presence in the small hours.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise the home at night, ensuring children are safe and cared for.
  • Support hygiene routines and occasional personal prompting with dignity.
  • Respond to behaviours with patience and calm, including physical aggression.
  • Keep children reassured if they wake, using low‑arousal, trauma‑informed strategies.
  • Record events clearly and hand over to the day team each morning.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in SEN or residential childcare.
  • Calm, resilient, and consistent even in high‑pressure situations.
  • Comfortable with hygiene support and safeguarding dignity.
  • Strong English communication skills and reliability.
  • Able to stay observant, patient, and compassionate throughout the night.

  • 36 days of training each year, including PBS, SEN, and de‑escalation
