Job summary

The Best Connection Eastbourne is seeking experienced Class 1 (Cat C+E) Night Drivers for trunking to regional hubs with consistent Monday to Friday night work in Newhaven. This role offers regular weekly pay and the potential for permanent placement, providing stability and ongoing hours.

You will conduct night-time vehicle checks, manage paperwork and driver records, and stay compliant with UK driver hours rules while supporting transport teams and hub staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) Licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 6 months recent Class 1 experience.
• Good understanding of UK driving regulations and driver hours rules.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent timekeeping.
• Professional and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Trunking to and from national distribution hubs.
• Collecting and exchanging trailers as required.
• Ensuring the safe and secure transport of goods.
• Completing vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Accurately completing paperwork and driver records.
• Adhering to all road safety, driver hours, and working time regulations.
• Communicating with transport teams and hub staff regarding delays or issues.

Skills
