Overview

Night Care Worker - Ty Cwm Ogwr Residential Care Home. 19 hours per week.

If you are a positive, caring and motivated person who likes to help people, you will be welcome at Ty Cwm Ogwr residential services for older people. Experience is welcome but not needed; we believe it is who you are as a person and the difference you can make that is important. Whether you are new to the role or have supported family or friends previously we want to hear from you; all we ask is that you have a passion to make positive changes to people’s lives.

Responsibilities
  • Providing person centred support tailored to individual needs, recognising strengths, capabilities and desired outcomes. Encouraging people to make informed choices recognising what matters to them in their lives.
  • Providing support to promote independence with aspects of daily living as identified in individuals care and support plans which may include diet/food preparation, assistance with medication and personal hygiene.
  • To work as part of a team alongside social workers, therapists, and health colleagues to meet identified outcomes.
  • Participating in supervision sessions and career development opportunities as agreed with your manager and actively engage in training in order to maintain your own professional development and registration with Social Care Wales and enhance competency within your role.
  • To be aware of your responsibilities safeguarding individuals at risk and report any concerns which may place the individual, you, or others at risk.

Additional information
  • You will be required to work weekends, and if required bank holidays. The shifts will be arranged by the manager and are subject to change to meet the demands of the service.
  • The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
  • Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
  • An Enhanced with Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
