Job summary

A care recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Care Assistant to provide flexible night support in a residential care home for elderly residents. You will follow personal care plans, assist with daily living activities, and maintain health standards. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 months of relevant experience, hold mandatory training certificates, and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Pay is £12.75 per hour on weekdays and £13.25 on weekends.

Qualifications

  • Two employment references, one from a care home setting.
  • In-date mandatory training certificates including safeguarding.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate within the past 12 months.
  • Experience in the use of Hoists, Slings, and Rotundas.
  • Minimum of 6 months paid work experience in a residential care home.
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Overview

You will be working in a beautiful care home that cares for elderly residents living with a range of age-related illnesses including Dementia and Alzheimers.

Duties
  • Following personal care plans
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with requirements of the home
  • General housekeeping and domestic duties
  • Reporting condition updates and recording fluid intakes
  • Helping patients remain as independent as possible and catering to their likes and dislikes
  • Assisting with daily living activities including morning and night-time routines
  • Working alongside support workers and care works to provide a complex care package tailored to individual needs
  • Toileting/bed bathing and strip washing the service users

Requirements
  • Have two employment references, one of which must be from a care home setting
  • Hold in-date mandatory training certificates (inc. moving and handling, safeguarding vulnerable adults and infection control)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate dated within the past 12 months or registered on the update service
  • Have a range of experience in the use of Hoists, Slings and Rotundas
  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid UK work experience working within a residential care home
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19

If you do not have a valid DBS and/or training, do not worry as we can help you with this. We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep!

Working Hours

You will be working from 21:00 to 07:00 on days that suit you between Monday to Sunday.

Pay

£12.75 per hour (Mon-Fri)
£13.25 per hour (Sat and Sun)
