A leading media publisher in the UK seeks a News Editor to manage workflow and oversee editorial content for Digital Spy. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of digital editorial experience and a keen understanding of entertainment news. Responsibilities include managing reporters, sourcing stories, and optimizing content for SEO. Competitive benefits include health plans and flexible working arrangements.
We are the UK's leading premium publisher, home to iconic and influential media brands including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and Country Living. At Hearst UK, we don't just create content — we shape culture.
As News Editor (maternity cover) you'll be responsible for workflow management and editorial oversight of Digital Spy's entire News output. You'll be a TV and Movies obsessive with the talent to channel your enthusiasm for everything from The Traitors to Sinners, from Adolescence to Emmerdale.
An entertainment expert who loves to share their enthusiasm with other fans. You'll have at least two years' experience in a digital editorial capacity and at least as much again as a writer in an entertainment news environment. You need to be able to think on your feet, prioritise workloads (your own and others') and be able to switch between tasks at high speed without losing focus. Familiarity with Microsoft business software (Planner, Excel, Teams, etc) is highly desirable and experience with Hearst's CMS and Google Analytics/Google Search Console are a plus. You'll have a clear and up-to-date understanding of UK media law, especially as it relates to privacy, defamation and copyright.

As a business, we recognise the significant benefits of creativity, collaboration and innovation that comes with diverse teams. Not only is diversifying the voices in our organization the right thing to do, but it also helps us to make powerful and exciting content that can be enjoyed by many more people. This is why we're working to build a sense of true belonging within our business and foster a culture in which everyone feels heard.
