Job summary

Planet Pharma seeks an experienced engineering program manager to lead the delivery of next‑generation connected products. You will drive cross‑functional collaboration across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and regulatory to capture requirements and ensure successful NPI execution from concept to production.

Based in Cambridge, UK, you will coordinate with R&D teams in the UK, USA and Israel, manage timelines, maintain BOMs, and ensure robust change control while partnering with

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong background in engineering, operations, or manufacturing, ideally with experience launching new products.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production readiness, supply chain planning, and supplier/CMO engagement.
  • Experience working with external manufacturing partners or third‑party production environments.
  • Comfortable managing documentation, BOM structures, revision control, and engineering change processes.
  • Familiar with PLM/ERP systems; knowledge of Teamcenter is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
  • Clear communicator able to work across different functions and global teams.
  • Organised, detail‑focused, and confident taking ownership of deliverables.
  • Fluent in English and able to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for supplier or project‑related work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee delivery of new hardware products into manufacturing, ensuring smooth handover from development to production.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and regulatory to align on requirements and timelines.
  • Build structured project plans, manage risks, track progress, and ensure milestones are met.
  • Prepare production environments for launch, including documentation, processes, tooling, and quality controls.
  • Work closely with external manufacturing partners to support line setup, transfers, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate product information such as BOMs, revisions, part numbers, and production instructions.
  • Manage engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle and ensure updates are implemented correctly.
  • Keep PLM/ERP systems updated with complete and compliant product data.
  • Support problem‑solving across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, supplier quality, and regulatory teams.

Job description

This position sits within a global pharmaceutical leader’s Engineering department, supporting the development and delivery of next‑generation connected products. You’ll be central to transforming concepts into commercialised products, ensuring operational, engineering, supply chain, quality, and regulatory requirements are fully captured and executed.

You’ll work closely with cross‑functional product and platform teams, collaborating with R&D groups in the UK, USA, and Israel. The role requires strong leadership across matrix teams, ownership of NPI execution, and tight coordination with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
