About the role
- Magic Circle offshore firm are looking for a litigation associate with between 1 and 5 years' PQE to join their prestigious disputes team in Jersey.
- This firm are very keen to hear from disputes lawyers who are either currently based in the UK or Ireland, as well as Jersey. You do not need any prior experience in offshore disputes, contentious trusts or insolvency etc - this firm are very happy to retool solid disputes lawyers, no matter how broad or niche your current practice is.
- Not only is this a Tier 1 ranked team, it is an extremely collegiate and friendly team with a very low turnover. This team does not lose its lawyers to competitors in Jersey.
- It's a full service team and you'll get exposure to international contentious and semi-contentious trusts work, corporate and funds disputes, contentious insolvency and restructuring, civil fraud and asset tracing mandates. Again, experience in any of these areas are not required- you just need to have a background in contentious work and have a desire to upskill.
- The Channel Islands are severely underrated as destinations in which to work and live. A role in Jersey will genuinely change your life, both professionally and financially: London salaries but with a flat 20% tax rate; top tier work but with a very healthy work-life balance - finish at 6pm every day and no more working weekends; a ten minute walk to the office for your commute; the best weather in the UK; stunning beaches and countryside, an emphasis on sports and outdoor activities and a strong community - all whilst only a 35 minute flight from London. It is a wonderful place to raise a family, too - very little crime and pollution and fantastic schools.
