Job summary

Geo is seeking a New Business Construction Underwriter to trade construction new business with Liability and CAR exposure. You will assess risks, quote, and drive conversion while building strong broker relationships and exploring new opportunities in a hybrid UK role.

You will join a team focused on technical excellence, solid coverage, and proactive service. The role offers market-sense opportunities and career growth within Geo’s construction proposition.

Qualifications

• Construction underwriting experience, especially Liability and CAR.
• Experience trading new business and following up quotations.
• Strong technical knowledge of the Construction market.
• Commercial mindset with brokers and negotiations.
• Ability to build credible, long-term broker relationships.
• Proactive generation, progression and conversion of opportunities.
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory insurance environment.
• CII or ACII desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and trading construction new business within authority.
• Assessing Liability and CAR risks and making sound, commercially-focused decisions.
• Proactively following up quotations and driving new business conversion.
• Developing strong broker relationships through regular contact and broker visits.
• Identifying opportunities to grow profitable business with existing and new broker partners.
• Negotiating confidently and finding solutions that work for Geo and brokers.
• Maintaining high standards of documentation, compliance and underwriting quality.
• Continuing to develop technical underwriting expertise and authority.
• Contributing ideas to develop Geo's Construction proposition.
