Job summary

Iris Care Group is seeking a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team at St Peters Hospital, Newport. Qualifications

• A recognised Degree, Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Relevant placement or post-qualification experience with adults with communication needs.
• Experience assessing or supporting speech, language or cognitive-communication difficulties.
• Commitment to reflective practice and continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload appropriate to the post holder's level of experience and competence.
• Undertake Speech and Language Therapy assessment of patients with communication difficulties.
• Develop individualised, person-centred therapy goals and intervention plans.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group therapy interventions.
• Support patients with speech, language, cognition and functional communication needs.
• Develop and implement communication strategies and resources for patients, families and staff.
• Contribute to communication passports and accessible resources where appropriate.
• Review progress and modify interventions according to outcomes and supervision.
