Job summary

Trigon Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading National Training Provider for a Neurodiversity Tutor based in Burton-on-Trent. This ongoing sessional role delivers a mix of group sessions and one-to-one support to adult learners, helping neurodivergent individuals overcome barriers and progress toward education, training or employment.

You will tailor teaching to individual needs, develop confidence and employability skills, and maintain learner records.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering neurodiversity, employability, adult learning, SEND or skills-based training.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches and learning resources to meet individual needs.
  • Strong IT and digital skills to support learners with basic digital tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver inclusive learning sessions tailored to neurodivergent adult learners.
  • Develop and adapt teaching methods, resources and activities for varying learning styles and supports.
  • Deliver group workshops on confidence, communication, employability, digital skills and workplace prep.
  • Provide personalised one-to-one coaching and learner support.
  • Help learners identify and overcome barriers to learning, progression and employment.

Neurodiversity Tutor

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Salary: £26,000 £28,000 per annum pro-rata

Contract Type: Ongoing Sessional

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am 2:30pm

About the Opportunity

Trigon Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading National Training Provider, rated Good (Grade 2) by Ofsted.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive and learner-focused Neurodiversity Tutor to deliver high-quality learning and development support to adult learners in Burton-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor, trainer or support professional who is passionate about helping neurodivergent individuals overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills they need to progress towards education, training or sustainable employment.

You will deliver a combination of engaging group sessions and one-to-one support, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs. You will help learners develop their confidence, communication, digital and employability skills while creating an inclusive environment where every learner is supported to achieve their potential.

As an ongoing sessional position, there is potential for continued work and further delivery opportunities for successful tutors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and accessible learning sessions tailored to the needs of neurodivergent adult learners.
  • Develop and adapt teaching methods, resources and activities to accommodate different learning styles, abilities and support needs.
  • Deliver group workshops covering areas such as confidence building, communication, employability, digital skills and preparation for the workplace.
  • Provide personalised one-to-one coaching and support based on individual learner needs and goals.
  • Help learners identify and overcome barriers to learning, progression and employment.
  • Support learners to develop practical strategies for managing challenges associated with their individual learning needs.
  • Encourage learners to recognise their strengths, develop self-confidence and build greater independence.
  • Support learners with CV development, job searching, job applications and interview preparation where appropriate.
  • Provide practical digital skills support, including navigating online platforms, email, job-search websites and online applications.
  • Set realistic and achievable goals with learners and monitor their progress throughout their learning journey.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion and participation.
  • Identify where learners may benefit from additional support, adjustments or signposting to relevant services.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all required documentation is completed in line with organisational and contractual requirements.
  • Record learner progress, activities and outcomes accurately on the organisation s database.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure learners receive appropriate support and guidance.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience delivering neurodiversity, employability, adult learning, SEND or skills-based training.
  • Strong understanding of neurodiversity and the different barriers neurodivergent individuals may experience within education, training and employment.
  • Experience supporting individuals with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches and learning resources to meet individual needs.
  • Experience delivering engaging group learning sessions.
  • Confidence providing one-to-one coaching, mentoring or personalised learner support.
  • Strong IT and digital skills, with the ability to support learners with basic digital tasks.
  • Experience supporting learners with confidence building, employability skills, job searching or progression.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with learners.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • A patient, empathetic and flexible approach to supporting learners.
  • A genuine passion for promoting inclusion and helping neurodivergent individuals achieve their goals.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working with autistic learners or individuals with ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other neurodivergent profiles.
  • Experience within adult education, employability or vocational training.
  • Experience of delivering personalised learning plans or individualised support.
  • Relevant teaching, training, coaching or mentoring qualification.
  • Understanding of reasonable adjustments and inclusive teaching practices.
