Job summary

The Radford Lab at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, seeks a motivated researcher to identify new diagnoses and treatments for genetic neuro-developmental conditions. You will lead projects using high-throughput molecular techniques, CRISPR/Cas9 screening, and single-cell RNA sequencing, while mentoring junior lab members.

Qualifications

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced molecular biology techniques, cell culture, gene editing and CRISPR/Cas9 screening preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a research project focused on identifying new diagnoses and treatment approaches for genetic neuro-developmental conditions.
  • Apply high-throughput molecular and cellular techniques to functionally characterise thousands of genetic variants.
  • Supervise junior lab members and participate in group meetings and seminars.
  • Seek external funding and undertake further training with institute support.
