Overview
Provide a high standard of speech and language therapy for patients with neurological and complex communication/swallowing needs. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering assessment, diagnosis, and individualised therapy. Contribute to service improvement, education, and clinical standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Clinical
- Manage a complex caseload of patients with neurological or physical disabilities and communication/swallowing difficulties.
- Deliver specialist interventions using evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
- Run individual, joint, group, and multidisciplinary therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement personalised speech and language programmes.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments using advanced clinical reasoning.
- Apply the IDDSI framework and ensure correct implementation.
- Create detailed discharge plans with patients and carers.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports.
- Ensure equipment is safe, suitable, and maintained.
- Work with the Director of Therapy to plan and develop services.
- Communication
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with patients, families, and staff.
- Motivate patients to engage in therapy using tailored techniques.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to service planning.
- Support induction and training of caregivers and staff.
- Professional Development
- Maintain up-to-date HCPC registration and CPD portfolio.
- Participate in appraisal, supervision, and performance review.
- Contribute to training and mentoring of students.
- Engage in audits, research, and service evaluation.
- General Duties
- Adhere to Data Protection Act and equality legislation.
- Order and monitor stock as needed.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Director of Therapy.
Salary up to £60,000. Full and part-time considered.
