Applications are warmly welcomed for a 12 month, fixed term post of Clinical Fellow in Neuro-Ophthalmology. The post itself is designed to provide sub-specialist training in neuro-ophthalmology at the Bristol Eye Hospital (BEH).

Innovation is at our core at BEH. Most recently we were commended for our use of the NHS Nightingale Hospital Bristol, created to treat Covid-patients, as a high-volume eye diagnostic assessment hub for medical retina patients during the pandemic. The Bristol Eye Hospital has a strong tradition of clinical, health service, epidemiological and basic science research with links to the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. The Fellowship will include a commitment to one or two research projects during the appointment.

Main duties of the job

The post is available for those with a background in Surgical Ophthalmology, Medical Ophthalmology or Neurology. It will provide advanced sub-speciality training in Neuro-ophthalmology. There is flexibility for a surgically trained ophthalmologist to take on additional theatre lists to maintain their skills in cataract surgery or further their expertise in strabismus surgery, should this best fit with the interests of the post-holder.

Applicants should already have CCST or be entering into their 5th year. Overseas applicants would normally be at the end of their local training scheme.

Please ensure your referees cover the last 3 years of your career.
