Network Security Engineer
Location: Stevenage

What you’ll be doing as the Network Security Engineer
    Supporting 24/7 security operations as part of the Internal Security Response (ISR) team, with a focus on incident response and triage.
    Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions around network infrastructure.
    Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security policies, identify vulnerabilities, and optimise network tools.
    Engaging with firewalls such as Checkpoint, Cisco, or Palo Alto, and managing secure proxy solutions like Bluecoat and Riverbed.
    Monitoring, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning network architectures, routing, switching, VLANs, and load balancing features.
Network Security Engineer experience & skills
    Strong understanding of networking principles - TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, and load balancing.
    Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, Bluecoat).
    Knowledge of IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, deep packet inspection, and VPNs.
    Experience managing secure proxy solutions, and monitoring platforms like Nagios or PRTG.
    Familiarity with security protocols such as IPSec, SSL/TLS, and two-factor authentication.
Security clearance is essential – applicants must be British citizens and will undergo DV clearance.
