The role

We're looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer who's passionate about building and maintaining high-performance, scalable and resilient network infrastructure.

You'll be part of a team that designs, automates and supports a global environment, which underpins cutting-edge research and technology operations, and drives the success of G-Research.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Designing and implementing security systems
• Delivering high-quality designs and ensuring successful roll-out of strategic initiatives
• Working closely with Security Architecture to drive security roadmaps
• Working closely with wider core infrastructure teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure goals and configurations
• Conducting regular network security audits and ensuring compliance with internal standards and best practices
• Being the point of contact for escalations from the operations team
• Implementing change requests

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Security frameworks such as NIST, CIS or similar
• Configuring and operating enterprise firewalls, for example with Fortinet and Palo Alto
• Web proxy technologies and traffic inspection
• F5 (LTM / ASM / APM or similar)
• Deep packet inspection, core security engineering principles and modern attacker techniques
• Networking fundamentals, for example TCP/IP, routing, switching and DNS
• Automation and scripting
• Privileged Access Management solutions
