Job description

A hands‑on role for someone who is great with IT, networking, and enjoys working directly with customers on cutting‑edge defence projects. They will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing our software on hardware platforms, both in the office and in the field.

Key Responsibilities in a nutshell:
  • Installing software on our hardware (Xcalibr and other projects).
  • Configuring and troubleshooting IP networks, VPNs, and communication systems.
  • Working directly with customers (from soldiers to senior decision‑makers) in training and support environments.
  • Contributing to our internal IT, network infrastructure, and asset management.
We are looking for someone with:
  • Excellent all‑round IT and networking skills (DHCP, fixed IPs, remote access, VPNs, MDM).
  • The ability to diagnose and solve network issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills, confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, thorough, and detail‑oriented approach.
  • Knowledge of A‑TAK (Android Team Awareness Kit).
  • The ability to get security clearance and a UK driving licence.
It would be a bonus if they have:
  • Experience with Python, JSON, SQL, or managing deployable networks (e.g., Unifi).
  • Experience working in or with the defence sector.
  • Hardware configuration or training delivery experience.
The Details:
  • Salary:£35,000 - £45,000
  • Location:Hybrid (2‑3 days a week in Bristol or Porton Down) with travel to customer sites.
