Job summary

Spirit IT Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and support its IT network infrastructure in the Greater London area. You will ensure availability, performance, and security while collaborating with IT and development teams to meet business objectives.

The role requires hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools, plus a proactive approach to patching, upgrades, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
• Configure and install network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
• Manage network-related projects to meet technical and business requirements.
• Monitor network performance and ensure high levels of uptime and reliability.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including patch updates and hardware replacements.
• Implement network security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
• Monitor and mitigate network vulnerabilities and threats.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry standards.
• Work with IT and development teams to optimize network performance.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and changes.
• Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
• Research and recommend new networking technologies and solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate cloud-based networking systems as needed.
