Job summary

DXC Technology in the United Kingdom seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, support and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across secure data-centre environments. You will work on LAN/WAN routing, switching, firewalls and SDN-enabled environments, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to architectural artifacts.

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise LAN/WAN routing and switching knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across physical and virtual networking.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Aruba enterprise networking.
• Firewall and network-security experience.
• Practical experience supporting Virtual networking environments.
• Understanding of Virtual networking segments, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways and distributed firewalling.
• Good understanding of VLANs, routing, segmentation and physical-to-virtual network integration.
• Ability to contribute to HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans and technical documentation.

• Deploy network applications on servers and voice equipment.
• Conduct network testing, maintenance, and problem resolution.
• Perform network configurations and implement configuration changes on Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Security appliances.

Network Engineer Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)

Desirable Skills:

• Advanced SDN administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with network overlays and software-defined networking.
• SDN Edge and north-south/east-west connectivity knowledge.
• Experience integrating virtual networking with enterprise firewalls and load balancers.
• Network automation/API experience, for example Ansible, PowerShell or Python.
