Job description

Network Engineer

12‑Month contract initially. Location: Hybrid – maximum 4 days per week onsite in London. Rate: £400 – £450 per day (via Umbrella company).

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience managing a global network platform, including internet/B2B DMZs.
• Experience testing and planning the deployment of router and switch platforms such as CISCO, NEXUS, etc.
• In‑depth knowledge of data centre design principles, products and protocols.
• Good appreciation of network security architectures, models and methodologies.
• Extensive technical experience in project deployment using Juniper JunOS, Cisco routers, switches, Nexus, Cisco NX‑OS, IOS‑XR, IDS/IPS.
• Support, design and product experience with firewalls – Juniper JunOS and Palo Alto.
• Security hardening on various platforms; familiar with industry best practices in network security.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Solid experience managing, configuring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure or OCI).
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Good project management skills.
• Broad technical experience engineering and implementing network technologies within a large enterprise, preferably with some exposure to the financial sector.
• Experience integrating with public cloud environments.
