Job summary

Sudlows is seeking a Network Designer to join our Technology team in the UK. You will specify, design and hand over pre-installation activities for wireless access, backhaul, switches, routers and firewalls, including IP addressing, VLANs and VPNs.

You should be experienced with the OSI model (L2-L3), structured cabling, and a range of vendors. You will produce detailed design packs, support bids and assist in pre-staging and configuring equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of network design including switches, routers and firewalls.
• Experience in wireless networks for user access and backhaul (PtP/PtMP).
• Knowledge of OSI model layers 2 and 3.
• Working knowledge of structured cabling systems.
• Proficient in creating detailed design packs and tender responses.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Senior Account Managers to submit high quality designs and proposals.
• Conduct detailed site surveys of Wireless and IP Network installations.
• Produce detailed design packs from concept to final delivery.
• Assist Bid Team with Technical Tender responses and design proposals.
• Coordinate with supply chain for accurate project pricing.
• Pre-stage and configure network equipment when required.
• Act as first point of contact for Operations and resolve scope questions.
• Support the wider design team on other tasks as needed.
