Job summary

Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Ward Manager (Band 7) in the St Peters Neonatal Unit, Chertsey. This full-time permanent post leads a multidisciplinary team in a Level 3 NICU, delivering safe, evidence-based neonatal care with a focus on staffing, quality, and family-centred approaches.

The role requires strong clinical leadership, workforce management, and development of perinatal services, with some rotation to cover unsociable hours as needed.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse with Neonatal experience.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team in a neonatal setting.
• Evidence of management and leadership in a Band 7 or equivalent role.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for day-to-day nursing staff management.
• Deputise for unit Matron for delegated tasks to ensure high-quality service.
• Lead operational management and service delivery with line management of ward staff.
• Promote evidence-based practice and monitor clinical standards.
• Strive for safe staffing and support workforce wellbeing.
