Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity to a Qualified in Speciality Neonatal Nurse. The NICU has recently undergone an exciting expansion, so it is an exciting time to join the team. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person who embraces change and welcomes new opportunities.

You will work as part of a team looking after the Wessex Region's most complex neonates and will be supported to do this by working alongside a highly skilled team whilst working collaboratively with families encompassing Family Integrated Care.

You will need to have undertaken the post registration Qualified in Speciality (QIS) Neonatal course and feel able to look after ITU level babies. There will be an extensive induction programme to orientate you into UHS NICU and will then be provided with ongoing teaching and training by our in-house education team. UHS NICU is a cardiac and surgical centre which takes referrals from across the Wessex Region and works collaboratively with regional maternity services to ensure NHS England's 'Better Birth's' agenda is adhered to.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping support families and babies within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We are fortunate to have many exciting teams within NICU including the regional transport service (SONET), family support and psychology team, surgical specialist nurses amongst many other expert sub teams. This ensures the bedside nurses are well supported to be able to facilitate the best patient care to our vulnerable neonatal.

We are looking for enthusiastic Band 5 Nurses to join our Neonatal Unit. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based care for neonates, working closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team.
