Job summary

Epsom and St Helier Hospitals is seeking a trained Nursing Associate to join the neonatal team at St Helier Hospital. The unit provides Level 2 neonatal care with 22 cots, located on the postnatal ward footprint.

You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering family-centred care. The role requires a Nursing Associate with NMC pin and neonatal life support qualification, and involves full-time hours with shifts over a 7-day week, including long days and nights.

Qualifications

• Qualified nursing associate registered with active NMC pin.
• Neonatal/paediatric life support training completed.
• Experience in neonatal/paediatrics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering safe and effective care to babies in Neonatal Special Care and Transitional Care.
• Communicate with neonatal nursing and medical teams to plan care for babies.
• Escalate concerns promptly to the neonatal nurse in charge.
• Deliver health promotion and support to families to enable appropriate home care.
• Instruct and deliver parentcraft sessions (bathing, resuscitation, safe sleep).
