Qualifications

  • NMC Child Registered Nurse with Qualified in Speciality Training.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

We’re looking for aMatronto join our Neonatal Unit at The Portland Hospital. The Portland Hospital is the UK’s only private hospital dedicated exclusively to the healthcare needs of women and children.

Position Description

The Neonatal Matron will be responsible for the operational and clinical leadership within the neonatal care setting, to support Women’s Services Manager, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for Women’s Services and the nursing teams in providing high quality care. The post holder will support the Women’s Services Manager to develop the neonatal services and meet the neonatal objectives in relation to expected standards of neonatal care.

They will actively educate the nursing team ensuring they have the skills to deliver the needs of the nursing service in a safe, efficient and effective way and develop practice within the unit through on-going training and development of staff by identifying individual training needs, facilitating courses and delivering training sessions. They will be highly visible and available to patients and the parents/carers thereby promoting confidence in our services and will develop and maintain positive Consultant relationships with the Neonatal Team and beyond. Strong leadership skills will be demonstrated in the daily management of the unit and the team.

The Neonatal Unit provides Level 2 care and has 6 cots.

What you'll bring
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN)/NMC Adult Registered Nurse, with Qualified in Speciality Training
  • Experience working within a Neonatal Unit, including attendance to deliveries in labour ward (post-qualification) (Essential)
