Office Base: Leatherhead (with regular travel across local patches)

About the Role

Our client, a respected housing association, is seeking a proactive and community-focused Neighbourhood Response Officer. This role is essential in maintaining safe, clean, and well-managed neighbourhoods where residents feel supported and proud to live. You will play a key role in supporting vulnerable customers, resolving tenancy issues, responding to anti-social behaviour, and working collaboratively with residents, local partners, and internal teams. This is a customer-facing role involving daily travel across neighbourhood patches, either from home or from the Leatherhead office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement neighbourhood plans and local service offers
  • Carry out regular estate inspections and ensure fire safety actions are completed
  • Build relationships with resident groups, supporting events and community projects
  • Liaise with local authorities, police, and partner agencies regarding safety and ASB
  • Work closely with internal departments to coordinate neighbourhood services
  • Support customers in tenancy breach, welfare needs, or requiring signposting
  • Carry out tenancy viewings, sign‑ups, and assignments
  • Attend and represent the organisation at court hearings (e.g. evictions, stays)
  • Complete property condition checks and support during major incidents or decants
What You’ll Need
  • Own vehicle and ability to travel across patches
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload across multiple locations
  • Basic DBS clearance
  • Good general IT skills (CRM systems, databases, Outlook, reporting tools)
  • Strong customer service and community engagement skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships across teams and partner organisations
  • Confident decision‑making and problem‑solving approach
  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in housing, neighbourhood management, customer services, or similar roles
  • Willingness to work occasional early evenings/weekends when required
