Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Defence Infrastructure team in the UK. You will lead end-to-end project management commissions, supporting major commissions with delivery excellence and NEC contract administration.

The role focuses on Defence, Rail, Water/Utilities or Highways sectors, with NEC/JCT/FIDIC contract experience, a proactive client focus, and a path toward Net Zero initiatives. Hybrid working and travel are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in infrastructure or construction related subject.
  • Chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.
  • Provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
  • Ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
  • Support clients as they transition to Net Zero and deal with wider changes to make themselves more sustainable.
  • Experience with NEC contracts and managing multiple stakeholders.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for Project Managers to join our busy and expanding Defence Infrastructure business, supporting our clients to deliver a range of construction infrastructure projects and programmes .

Owing to the complex nature of the works involved, this role will suit Project Managers from a Defence, Rail, Water/Utilities or Highways background with proven experience and understanding of the processes. NEC accreditation is also preferred.

At Turner & Townsend Project Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project, etc. Typically, projects fall within the £1m to £10m range. When in a supporting role, the project size may be far greater.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
  • To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.
  • To provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
  • To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
  • Supporting clients as they transition to Net Zero and deal with wider changes to make themselves more sustainable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with a focus on NEC contracts.
  • Expertise in NEC/JCT/FIDIC contract administration.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, presentation, written).
  • Self-motivation and strategic problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders within the framework of NEC contracts.
  • Knowledge of CDM/site health and safety as it pertains to NEC contracts.

Working in Teams/Office & Site attendance
