Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Nearshore Geotechnical Engineer on a 6-month contract to support marine and coastal ground investigation projects across the UK and Ireland.

The role involves supervising nearshore investigations (drilling, CPTs, vibrocores), overseeing offshore operations with HSE compliance, logging and interpreting geotechnical data, and coordinating with vessel crews and project teams this position requires travel and offshore work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant geotechnical experience.
• Experience working on marine, coastal or offshore investigation projects.
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work offshore as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nearshore geotechnical investigations, including drilling, CPTs, vibrocores and sampling.
• Oversee offshore operations and ensure HSE compliance.
• Log and interpret geotechnical data.
• Support project reporting and client communication.
• Coordinate with vessel crews, contractors and project teams.
